How To - Automatically resize images

TM Master v2 can automatically resize any images that are attached to the Documents tabs throughout the software. This limits the amount of bandwidth required to transport the images. Here's how to set it up:

  1. Log on to the database you want the resizing to be active in, and go to [System -> Settings -> General]
  2. In the "General settings" section, find the settings named "Maximum img width/height" and "Keep image aspect ratio".
  3. Enter the number of pixels you want the width and height to be in the text boxes. Higher numbers result in higher quality and larger files. Typical examples are 2048x1536 or 1024x768. The change in size is permanent so make sure you don't select a resolution too small as this could cause the image to lose details.
  4. "Keep image aspect ratio" means that the image will not be stretched in either direction by changing the resolution, but that it will keep the same shape even as it is shrunk. We recommend ticking this box.
  5. When happy, click "Save" and restart TM Master v2. All images added to any Documents tab in TM Master v2 in the database in question will now be automatically shrunk if they are above the defined resolution. Images that are smaller will not be affected.
